God, it feels good to move your arms and legs after a long-imprisoned life inside your home due to pandemic! Who knew the benefits of exercise could be so revealing? Cocooned for so long inside the home and work from home, sounds all great but the lack of any physical activity is a deal-breaker for many. This definitely instilled a great deal of importance in the gym now, doesn’t it?

One thing I can say confidently is, “EXERCISING IS GREAT!”

benefits of exercise: improved mood

How do you define the word Exercise?

Exercise is not only about losing weight, it’s an entire Santa package for your fitness goals. Usually what people conceive is that exercise is all about going to the gym, doing weights, shedding tons of calories. Well, it’s a lot more than that. Any physical activity that helps you stay healthy, fit, and strong is exercise.

Physical activities like swimming, playing, running, or even dancing are just to name a few of the routine exercises.

Numerous researches have shown great benefits of exercise on body and mind altogether. But let’s think outside of the research for now. One of the amazing benefits of exercise is that they are long term and have a lasting effect on you.

One of the best things to give your heart is a physical activity, a major benefit of exercise.

If you have readied your gears but still don’t know where to begin with, always begin with baby steps. Always begin your day with a short warm-up routine and then move to the second step. You could run, jog or even practice early morning yoga, all will benefit you.

One might ask what the best time of the day to exercise is. Early to bed, early to rise motto might just work out for you. But if you can’t find time during the daytime then the evening time is just fine. Some researchers even suggested doing a short workout routine before bed.

To learn as to why exercise is important, let’s recall some of the amazing benefits of exercise you’d enjoy.

  • Kills anxiety

Thanks to lockdown in majority countries, people have been scooped inside for so long. It ultimately became the reason for depression and anxiety, not only in adults but in kids too.

Its suffice to say that, one of the major benefits of exercise is it zaps anxiety. It kills it. The more your workout the less stress you feel. The physical exhaustion fades away, you feel fresh and happier. People do not take anxiety seriously, but guys if you ever feel shaking in the bones or discomfort in your body (especially in your legs) these are common physical symptoms of anxiety.

A run will do you good, just step outside and count laps as you run.

  • Immunity increases

Another major benefit of exercise is it helps to boost your immunity. WHO concern with COVID-19 puts a lot of stress on building strong immunity. Now a gym membership did sound good right? but don’t worry, it’s never too late. A serious exercise releases your stress hormones too, improves your health condition. Want a healthy heart? Then exercise regularly.

Even common cold and flu will give you a wide berth once you stick up with your healthy workout routine.

body image concern

  • The body image looks great!

Of course, who wouldn’t love toned legs and tucked in the belly? Exercising regularly improved your looks; you look fresh, happier, adds much-needed confidence along with satisfaction and needless to say attractive too

Body image is not only limited to the way a person looks on the outside; you also improve your mental well-being.  If you want to build a better body, then exercise your way, my friend! You do not need to skip meals even to improve your body image. a healthy chunk of hours spent on the right exercises will benefit a great deal.

  • No more sleep problems!

Listen all workaholics, if you want to work out, you better make it to the gym (wink). Why not be productive to sweat some tears from your body rather than grumbling in anger at your desk?

Those tired bags under your eyes a telltale, exercise with all your might and get good night’s sleep. It true, people who exercise daily are said to have improved sleep patterns. By improved we mean the regular sleep pattern i.e. 8 hours of sleep.

Exercise is a sleep-promoting medication for all.

exercise benefits the couple

  • Works magic on the mood

Feeling low, are we? Did you know; getting all sweaty and dirty during exercise may be the way to perk your mood? Especially couples struggling with their love life can endure more optimism once they start on moving towards fitness couple goals?

It’s weird to think that if you smell pheromones in sweat it might trigger an erection. It’s just basic science. Well, a good regular dose of exercise does reduce the risk of erectile dysfunction too. So yeah, another benefit of exercise to checkmark is it stimulates mood, makes the ending of the day much happier.

  • Works wonder on PMS too!

Its no secret, exercising during menstrual cycles can benefit women to reduce the bloating and irritability they usually feel.

Women who regularly exercise during their monthly cycles are said to have improved the flow, are well-rested and less moody. Of course, food cravings are still there but exercises remove the direness from the body. And let’s not forget the cramps shall we? Regular exercise stimulates blood flow to your pelvic region which reduces the backaches and cramps too.

  • Mind over matter

Mental health is as important as physical health. If you ever wondered why you have memory loss problems as you age it’s probably because your brain’s immunity decreased. Especially in the older age group, it is far more common which can lead to Alzheimer’s.

So if you want to count another benefit of exercise, it strengthens your brain too. It also Improves planning, memory and reasoning, and so on.

Exercise is the most underutilized anti-depressant for your body and mind. It’s never too late to begin physical activity. Let your heart and brain be thankful for once.
