Testosterone is a hormone that belongs to a group of hormones called androgen it’s a male sex hormone but also present in females and responsible for a lot of major functions. It is thought by most people that testosterone is only present in males but it is wrong. It is also present in females and responsible for so many functions.

In females, it is produced by the adrenal gland and ovaries. Its level inside the women's body changes according to activities, time, age, and also according to the menstrual cycle. Those women who are deprived of testosterone lacking to produce new red blood cells or other blood cells doesn’t able to maintain orgasm and libido and also other reproductive health issues

A Woman should have a total of 15–70 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dl) of testosterone in her blood

Signs and symptoms.

Low testosterone in women leads to all of this

  • Less muscle mass and strength
  • Lethargic
  • Weakness
  • Less alertness
  • No sexual drive, or loss of libido
  • No sexual satisfaction
  • Fatigue and tiredness
  • Sluggishness
  • Weight gain
  • Vaginal issues
  • Bad bone health
  • Irregular menstruation
  • Sleep disturbance
  • The issue in reproductive health

These symptoms may not only be associated with only low testosterone levels but may bother reasons so should be checked properly. There is many natural testosterone booster that you can try out to boost your testosterone hormone.

There are  a lot more causes for low testosterone levels but some are very common

As we know that pituitary gland,  hypothalamus, adrenal gland, ovaries are responsible for the production and regulations of testosterone levels in women if any of this system is disturbed or less active it may lead to low levels of testosterone

Also in some women, it may also happen due to hormonal imbalance due to lifestyle disorders, routine, stress, anxiety, less physical workout, or maybe due to menopause or aging

Problem with the functioning of ovaries at a certain age or after menopause is the main reason for the low level of both testosterone and estrogen which may lead to a lot of health issue in women

If the adrenal gland is not functioning properly or if the target site doesn’t take properly responsible it also leads to a low level of testosterone

These are some common causes but other causes are also responsible for the same. Sometimes doctors suggest ayurvedic men capsules to females as well in some rare cases, as there are some low dosage capsules too.

Treatment

Treatment includes a lot of things as it is a bit popular these days to women take estrogen pill which consists of mild testosterone as well that but that testosterone is not up to the mark or sometimes the body doesn’t absorb it properly

Another option is to administer testosterone injections or pellets

But some doctors advise not to take testosterone artificially to women as it may lead to side effects such as hair loss, deepening of the voice, enlargement of the clitoris, excess facial hair, etc

You can also maintain testosterone level by doing some lifestyle changes

  • Such as taking proper sleep
  • Include good food in your diet
  • Avoid junk and preservative food
  • Take steps to manage stress
  • Do proper meditation
